Okay – so here’s the thing. I have been writing now since October 2021 – telling my life story. It has been painful and it has been interesting.
You all now know pretty much the general line of my life and some of the things I have endured and encountered along the way.
It is time now to round this off and to talk about what all of this is about. I mean, so far it has just been a story of a life. What makes telling my story so important?
Don’t worry I have been asking myself that since Father God asked me to write it. Why? What is there to gain and how can it help others? If there is no purpose to telling the story and reliving the pain then surely it has been a waste. But no life lived is a waste and no story told is unimportant.
The thing I have become most passionate about is people simply telling the truth. You would think that was a no-brainer right?
How many times have you found yourself saying – “it’s just a little white lie”. Have you found yourself telling a story – which is true – but in the middle of telling it you realise people are not quite as engaged as you would like them to be and so you add just a little embellishment? Have you ever copied and pasted another person’s photograph off Instagram or Facebook, Twitter or Tik Tok and left people to believe it is yours? Have you ever twisted the truth just a fraction? Have you done anything that really isn’t you? Let me give you an example – you really like someone and they are into country music and you tell them you like country music when you absolutely hate it. Sooner or later the truth has to come out or you spend your life in misery listening to music, going to concerts with someone who thinks you love it.
This then is the reason I have shared my story. My deepest desire is to tell my story which will hopefully impact just one person to reconsider whether it is worth the lie. Once you are there, deep in the fantasy, it is extremely difficult to get out and has the potential to rob you of all your potential.
One question to finish this – stop for a moment and ask yourself – What is difficult for you about the truth?
